If you search for Self Unfinished by Xavier Le Roy on YouTube, there is a video with almost 300,000 hits. We may not trust YouTube too much, but it is clear that this work from 1998 has become part of the history of European dance.
In the 1990s, two choreographers, friends and accomplices, begin to break through the boring panorama of French dance. Jérôme Bel and Xavier Le Roy created a new language, where dancers cease to be disciplined bodies at the service of power and showbiz, precisely to reveal the hierarchies and the problems contained in this traditional idea of a show, which Guy Debord attacked frontally.
Xavier Le Roy comes to Galicia for the first time with this fundamental piece of modern dance, full of intelligence but also humour, which was the starting point of one of the most fascinating and valued works of the current world dance scene.
