“During the 1950s and 1970s, my father and his two brothers belonged to the Edelweiss Speleology Group. In 1956, Edelweiss began exploring Ojo Guareña, one of the largest caves in Europe, in the north of Burgos. Guided by speleologists, Light Years Away is a visit through the darkness of drama, a journey in which everything that appears surprises, whether it be organic or inanimate, chronological or anachronistic, visible or invisible. This is a film off the screen, a documentary without faces, a show lit with lanterns.”

Edurne Rubio, an artist from Burgos living in Brussels, researches into Spanish history from a subtle place, in a descent into the cave that is also a metaphor for the present time. The audience will have the opportunity to feel the temperature of the cave and to descend with the artist to the depths of her memory.
