A cellist, researcher, singer, and a total artist, Maite Arroitajauregui is Mursego.
In this last year, she has created the project 100% Oion, an album with the Basque town of Oion, one of the most controversial in Euskadi. With all the townsfolk, she generated an entire record about the reality lived day by day by its inhabitants. Determined to work with conflictive people, Maite gives voice to the different cultures and ways of living in this town.
With her feet in Euskadi, in Eibar, but with her eyes on the world, Maite is also a presence and a unique voice, a multi-instrumentalist, with training in classical and contemporary music.
If one of the objectives of this festival is to dialogue with and rescue artists who resist being caught by the prevailing cultural system, the voice of Mursego, its toys, its landscape, its delicacy and its forcefulness when it comes to saying, shall be one of the highlights of this edition.
